HUBERT C. WALKER
Captain - United States Air Force
Shot Down: January 14, 1968
Released: March 14, 1973

I was born in Tulsa, Oklahoma, 26 October 1941. I lived there until 1950 when
I moved to Whitwell, Tennessee to live with my grandmother until 1957. I then
returned to Tulsa where I finished school and graduated from the University of
Tulsa in 1963. I majored in Chemical Education (BA) and Mathematics (BS). I
was also married in 1963 and joined the Air Force. I was in the Atlas F-ICBM
field for a year and a half. I then went to Communications Officer School at
Keesler AFB, Mississippi, and Navigation Training School and Electronics
Warfare Officer School at Mather AFB, California. I arrived at Takhli AFB, on
28 November 1967 and was shot down six weeks later on 13 January 1968. I was
one of seven men on an EB-66-C. The other POWs with me were Ron Lebert, Tom
Sumter, and Dave Terrell.

I returned on 14 March 1973 five years and two months (almost to the hour) to
find that my wife had filed for a divorce while I was a POW. I have two girls,
Donna Christine, born 15 June 1966, and Doriann Jeannette, born 11 September
1967.

I will be flying C-141's from Travis AFB, California soon.

December 1996
Hubert Walker retired from the United States AIr Force as a Colonel. He and
his wife Viki reside overseas.
