UPDATE - 09/95 by the P.O.W. NETWORK, Skidmore, MO

DANIEL J. DOUGHTY
Lt. Colonel - United States Air Force
Released: February 12, 1973

I joined the Air Force Reserve in May 1952 and came on active duty as an
Aviation Cadet in September 1953. Was commissioned and received my wings as
a pilot at Webb AFB, Texas in December 1954. From then until my shootdown
I had served with the following units:

431st FIS, Wheelus AB, Tripoli, Libya
3531st PTS, Byan AFB, Texas
3500th PTS, Reese AFB, Texas
7225th OPS Sq., USAF Academy, Colorado
29th TRS, Shaw AFB, South Carolina
45th TRS, Misawa AB, Japan

While with the 45th TRS, I spent several months on temporary duty at Ton
Son Nhut AB, South Vietnam and Udorn, Thailand. On 2 April 1966 I was shot
down while on my 169th combat mission.

I am most grateful to my dear wife Theresa (Terry) for carrying the heavy
burden that was left with her. Not knowing for years I was alive, she kept
faith and did a marvelous job rearing our lovely family, Douglas 15, Danette
14, David, 13, and Donovan 9.

The United States is a great country and I am proud that I was able to serve
Her in time of need. God Bless America

November 1996
Daniel Doughty retired from the United States Air Force as a Colonel. He and
his wife Terry reisde in Wisconsin.
